could be that you lack Self- Confidence and Assertiveness. These two skills are
crucial to the victory in your personal and professional lives; without them,
life can be isolated and painful. ‘’Assertiveness

Self-confidence
plays a significant role in our everyday lives. Having confidence allows us to
set and influence our goals. When a someone is confident, it provides stability
when faced with a challenge and it helps them overcome difficulties. It is a required
skill to have in our personal and professional lives, as without it one would
not be successful in either. Having Self-Confidence gives us the aptitude to
stand up to face our challenges and to pick ourselves up when we fall.
Characteristics
of a Self-Confident human:
1. They have a solid sense of self-worth.
2. They believe in their skills to make
strong and sound judgments.
3. They have freedom from doubt. (They believe they can make an alteration,
change a situation, they are more likely to succeed.)
4. Self-Confident persons can control their
thoughts and emotions; and can influence others.
5. Self-Confident persons are more prepared
to tackle everyday challenges and recover from setbacks. This leads to more
optimism and life gratification.

Assertive performance
is a learned skill, and it is situational.
There are several different types of Assertive behavior, how you respond
depends on the situation. Assertive behavior involves three groupings of
skills:
1. Self-affirmation
2. The skill to recognize and express
positive feelings
3. The skill to recognize and express
negative feelings

What are the
characteristics of an assertive human?
1. Confident and direct in commerce with
others.
2. They communicate in fairness and equality
based on a positive sense of admiration for themselves and others.
3. They can communicate directly based on a
person’s needs, wants, and opinions without punishing, threatening, or putting
down another human.
4. They stand up for a person’s legitimate
rights – without violating the rights of others or being overly dreadful in the
process.
Self-Confidence and Assertiveness relays wonderful on communication. Effective communication is essential in personal and professional social skills. There are wonderful techniques in to communicating effectively. The first rule to communicating is to understand, that there is a alteration between Hearing and Listening.

Hearing is
the act of observing sound by the ear; and Listening is somewhat that one
consciously chooses to do. Listening needs concentration so that the brain
processes meaning from words and sentences. Unlike hearing, listening skills
can be sophisticated and learned. The art of active listening allows you to completely
receive a message from another person. Active listening permits you to be
sensitive to the multiple dimensions of communication. They are:

for the communication: What is the reason why the human is communicating with
me now?
The length
of the communication: What can the length of the message tell me about its value?
The words
chosen: Is the note being made formally? Is it with aloofness or slang?

The Pauses
and Hesitations: How do these enhance or diminish from the message?

are actively listening to a conversation:

questions stimulate thinking and discussion or responses including views or
feelings. They pass controller of the conversation to the respondent. Leading
words in open questions contain: Why, what, or how.

Questions
A clarifying
question assistance to remove ambiguity, elicits additional detail, and guides
the answer to a question.
Closed
Questions
Closed
questions usually necessitate a one-word answer, and effectively shut off
discussion. Closed questions deliver facts, allow the questioner to maintain
control of the conversation, and are easy to answer.
